Eastern North Carolina Association of the Southern Conference

ENCA Services

The Eastern North Carolina Associations offers a number of valuable services to its member congregations. Specifically, the Association Conference Minister, Area Conference Ministers and ENCA support staff focus congregational support on the following core areas:

  1. Search and Call
  2. Training
  3. Mission
  4. Ordination
  5. Installation
  6. Conflict Management
  7. Situational Reviews
  8. Fitness Reviews
  9. Standing, and any other duties assigned by the Associate and or Conference Minister.

In addition, the ENCA provides churches with Safe Church background checks at a nominal fee, resources to make churches safer, and sample policies and procedures to help congregations through the planning and implementation process. Making our churches safer for all members is a priority in the Southern Conference and we strongly encourage all churches to take advantage of these services and resources.

The ENCA also supports the Pastoral Leadership Development Program as an alternative path to ordination in the Southern Conference. Individuals who are interested in pursing this option should notify your Area Conference Minister and Rev. Margot Pickett.

Geographic Support and Service

In an effort to address the needs of new church starts, revitalizing congregations and established churches, the ENCA has added two Area Conference Ministers. Each ACM has been given three program districts as their primary service areas. Rev. Phil Hardy will cover the Burlington, South Boston and Sanford districts and Rev. K. Ray Hill will cover the Triangle, Henderson and New Bern districts. Program district maps are under development.
